Andreas Fürer (*1993) and Sonjoi Nielsen (*1994) aka FürerNielsen, are two swiss artist based in Zürich, Switzerland.
The focus of our work lies in the process. We are interested in digital worlds, social change, current and past technologies and artifacts. We take products and objects from today's social environment and question their influence on new social phenomena in our personal space. How do they function, and how do they change us by the way we function with them? Where is the human being when everything gets out of hand, when we ourselves are already a quasi-algorithm, an NPC (non-player character) and, without being choosy, gain access to immeasurable spaces. We are in search of counter-models, which are a hair's breadth away from the things we are becoming accustomed to, and yet allow them to react with our bodies. Perhaps it is possible to keep their potential open in the tension between past and future, between familiarity and unfamiliarity.
